Italia Marine; cover, cost and conditions
Italiamarine is a Neapolitan builder of rigid inflatables, run by the company Nauticamato SRL which also runs the production yard there. The yard calls its boats tailor-made gommoni: tube colour, upholstery, fabrics and materials are put together for each owner, and the current range runs from 22 to 38 feet by its own account. The names give the boats away. Nearly every model carries a place on the Italian coast or among its islands, from Sanremo in the north to Capri and Panarea in the south, followed by a number that roughly matches the length in feet.
Our model records hold eight Italia Marine designs. Seven are listed as rigid inflatables and one, the Italia 31 WA, as an inflatable. All eight reach into the most recent build years. Four lines start in 2011: the Italia 26 Panarea at 7.8 metres, the Italia 28 Portofino at 8.7 metres, the Italia 29 Vesuvio at 8.83 metres and the Italia 34 Capri, at 10.7 metres the longest boat on the list. The Italia 24 Sanremo, the smallest at 7.3 metres, and the Italia 32 Amalfi at 9.7 metres followed in 2014, the Italia 31 Positano in 2015 and the Italia 31 WA in 2017, both 9.4 metres long. The whole range therefore sits between just over seven and just under eleven metres.
A big open RIB lives hard in the sun. The tubes are the first thing to check on a used boat: seams, glued patches and the joint between tube and hull tell a lot about how it was kept, and fabric that has spent years in the open under Mediterranean light will show it. Teak or synthetic decking, cushions and the canopy are worth a close look too, since these boats are fitted out to order and replacing custom parts takes time. Twin outboards are common at this size, so the service history of each engine matters as much as the hull. Typical use is fast day trips to islands and anchorages.

For the Italia 24 Sanremo, Italia 26 Panarea,
Italia 28 Portofino by Italia Marine and further series: On an inflatable the cause decides,
not the damage: a tear from impact is covered, porous fabric after years in the sun is not.
The outboard belongs in the policy with its serial number.
For the Italia 31 WA by Italia Marine series: Even without an engine the rule holds:
a tear from impact or vandalism is covered, UV ageing is wear.
