Worth knowing
Jumbo-Boote Vertriebs GmbH; cover, cost and conditions
Classic inflatable boats ran under this name, that is boats without a rigid hull with a slatted or inflatable floor. The naming is striking: models are called after peoples and landscapes of the Americas, Indio, Inka, Aztek, Maya, Sioux and Canyon, or after their purpose, Tramper and Adventurer. You recognise them by the consistently round substantial tubes with tapered ends, the flat built up floorboard and the very simple finish; rowlocks and thwarts are fitted rather than moulded in. A boat of this kind folds down into a car boot or a cockpit locker.
Our model records list 55 models of this brand, all of them soft inflatables. Recorded build years run from 1983 to 2012, so production of these models is closed. Fifty five series are recorded: Indio and Indio Spezial, Tramper and Tramper SL, Inka LS, Brigant VS, Adventure and Adventurer, Canyon, Green Duck, Sioux, Juca S, Maya S and Aztek M, together with the plainly numbered B1, B2 and B3. Lengths run from 2.2 to 6 metres, half the models between 3.2 and 4 metres. That is exactly the size at which an inflatable can still be carried by two people.
Age is what defines these boats now. On an inflatable it is the condition of the fabric rather than the build year that sets the value, since the material ages through sunlight, abrasion and simply through time. The engine matters too: on a three and a half metre boat the outboard is often worth more than the boat under it.

For the Indio, Tramper, Inka LS by Jumbo-Boote Vertriebs GmbH and 13 more series the market value
and the replacement cost often differ widely.
An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
For the Jumbo Canyon Aerotec, Jumbo Indio,
Jumbo Robinson by Jumbo-Boote Vertriebs GmbH and 36 more series there is no list price left.
That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it,
and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
For the Indio, Tramper, Inka LS by Jumbo-Boote Vertriebs GmbH and further series:
Even without an engine the rule holds: a tear from impact or vandalism is covered,
UV ageing is wear.
