Moon Yacht; cover, cost and conditions
Moon Yachts builds its boats in Gdańsk, on Poland's Baltic coast. The yard works on a boutique scale and concentrates on catamarans, some driven by sail and some by engines, with the layout, finishes and equipment settled with each owner. Its name rests on a pair of sisters of around 60 feet, the Moon 60 Sail and the Moon 60 Power. They are easy to pick out in a marina: a wide saloon glazed all round, two helm stations and generous deck space across both hulls. The power version does without a rig, which frees up room on deck and reduces draft, so it can tuck into shallower anchorages.
Our model records hold three designs from the build years 2020 to 2024: one sailing catamaran, one power catamaran and one rigid inflatable. The Moon 60 Sail and the Moon 60 Motor each measure 18.3 metres, while the Moon 45 RIB comes in at 13.8 metres and is the smallest boat under the name in our list. All three entries run from 2020 to 2024, and none of them is listed into the most recent build years. There is nothing under ten metres in the range. Because each hull is fitted out to order, two boats of the same model can differ a good deal below decks.
Looking after a Moon means looking after two hulls. Both keels, rudders or drives and the underside of the bridgedeck deserve a careful look whenever the boat is lifted, and on the Sail version the rig, chainplates and sails add a separate checklist. When buying second hand, ask for the original build specification, since layouts and systems were chosen by the first owner and some spares may be specific to that boat. Catamarans of this size are often lived on for long periods, so the state of watermaker, generator and batteries tells a lot about how the boat has been used. A survey out of the water is worth the time.

For the Moon 45 RIB by Moon Yacht series: On an inflatable the cause decides, not the damage:
a tear from impact is covered, porous fabric after years in the sun is not.
The outboard belongs in the policy with its serial number.
For the Moon 60 Motor, Moon 60 Sail by Moon Yacht series:
On catamarans the bridgedeck between the hulls is the sensitive part,
