My Electroboat; cover, cost and conditions

MY-Electroboat is based in Raisting on the Ammersee in Upper Bavaria and builds nothing but electrically driven boats. The company took its present form in 2015, when Marian Hanke and Philipp Dorsch merged their two businesses. Hanke trained as a boatbuilder and had started his own yacht service in 2005; Dorsch is an electromechanic and state-certified technician. That pairing still shapes the workshop, where electrical engineers, boatbuilders and saddlers share the work. Alongside the My Vento, the range today includes the MY-Basso, MY-Tramonto, MY-Junior, two MY-Elégance versions, a 4.2 metre RIB and the MY-Worxx, all running on Torqeedo drives.

Our model records hold a single design from this yard, the My Vento motorboat. It is listed from build year 2023 and reaches into the most recent build years, so it belongs to current production. At 6.5 metres long and 2.10 metres wide, it is laid out for seven people. According to the builder, the hull is hand-laid glassfibre and divided into five chambers, three of which provide buoyancy. Power comes from a Torqeedo outboard of either 12 or 50 kW with a lithium-ion battery. Depending on the version, the boat weighs roughly 800 or 1,300 kilograms and reaches about 20 or 40 kilometres per hour.

An electric boat asks for a different routine from a petrol one. The battery likes moderate temperatures and a sensible state of charge during long breaks, and charging cables and connectors deserve a regular look for wear and corrosion. Synthetic leather upholstery and synthetic teak are easy to keep clean with mild products. The My Vento is meant for lakes, rivers and calm coastal water, and with the stronger drive it can even pull a water skier. When buying a used one, ask for the battery history, check the chambers for water and look closely at the transom where the outboard is mounted.

Series by My Electroboat, build years and cover

My Vento

My Vento is a motorboat from My Electroboat, built since 2023.

What this means for the cover

As the My Vento by My Electroboat series is still in production,

parts are available and repair costs are predictable.

Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.

For the My Vento by My Electroboat series:

On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part.

Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
