Nautica LED; cover, cost and conditions
Nautica LED is a family firm in Cologno Monzese, just outside Milan, founded by Domenico Lepera in 1968 and run today by his sons. It builds rigid inflatables for outboard or sterndrive power, with neoprene tubes in ORCA Hypalon fabric, gelcoat, teak and stainless steel. The boats carry the LED badge and a number. Three digits give the length roughly in centimetres, so an LED 540 is 5.4 metres; on the large models two digits give feet, as with the LED 27 or LED Eagle 44. The GS models form an older line of their own.
Our model records list 28 models: 25 rigid inflatables and three soft inflatables. Build years run from 2003 to 2027, and twelve models are still in production. Lengths range from 2.05 to 13.3 metres, with half of them between 4.2 and 7.5 metres. The older Led 2 to Led 6 with their VTR variants measure 2.05 to 4.5 metres. The GS line spans 4.7 to 7.5 metres, the GS 590 built until 2022. The current line runs from the LED 440 at 4.4 metres to the LED 780 at 8.05, followed by the LED 27 to 33 at 8.1 to 10.6 metres and the LED Eagle 44 at 13.3.
Italian RIBs like these are used for fast coastal hops, island days and as chase boats for watersports, the larger ones as day cruisers. Value rests on the tubes and their bond to the hull, the engine and its hours, and the teak and stainless fit out. Tube fabric ages in the sun, so boats kept under cover in winter hold their value better.

As the LED 27, LED 28, LED 32 by Nautica LED and 9 more series are still in production,
parts are available and repair costs are predictable.
Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
For the Led GS 590, Led GS 540,
Led GS 680 by Nautica LED and 13 more series the market value and the replacement cost often
differ widely.
An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
For the LED 27, LED 28, LED 32 by Nautica LED and further series:
On an inflatable the cause decides, not the damage: a tear from impact is covered,
porous fabric after years in the sun is not.
The outboard belongs in the policy with its serial number.
For the Led 2, Led 2.05, Led 205 VTR by Nautica LED series: Even without an engine the rule holds:
a tear from impact or vandalism is covered, UV ageing is wear.
