Nautica Stilmar; cover, cost and conditions
Nautica Stilmar builds nothing but rigid inflatable boats in our records: a solid hull with an air-filled tube around it. We found no reliable source on the yard's base or history, so this page works from the model records alone. Every model carries the SM prefix, and two counting systems run side by side. On the small boats the number is roughly the length in decimetres, so the SM 50 is 5.17 metres and the SM 77 Sub 7.49 metres. On the Cabin models it sits close to the length in feet, with the SM 42 Cabin at 12.78 metres.
Our records list 13 Stilmar models, all of them RIBs. The SM 50 opens the list in 2003. Six lines run into the most recent build years: SM 28 Cabin, SM 28 Open, SM 34 Cabin, SM 34 Commander, SM 35 Cabin and SM 600. The SM 42 Cabin stops in 2022, and the early SM 47, 50, 55, 55 Sub, 60 and 77 Sub end between 2012 and 2014. Lengths run from the 4.62 metre SM 47 to the 12.78 metre SM 42 Cabin; six models stay under 6 metres and five sit between 8.4 and 10.3 metres.
A RIB lives or dies by its tube. UV light is the main enemy, so a canvas or a shaded berth adds years, and the seams deserve a look every spring. The small SM boats up to 6 metres usually travel on a trailer and launch wherever the day leads. The Cabin models from 8.4 metres are berth boats for longer coastal runs, with a cuddy to sleep in and bigger engines that want regular servicing.

As the SM 28 Cabin, SM 28 Open,
SM 34 Cabin by Nautica Stilmar and 3 more series are still in production,
parts are available and repair costs are predictable.
Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
For the SM 42 Cabin, SM 47, SM 50 by Nautica Stilmar and 4 more series the market value and the
replacement cost often differ widely.
An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
For the SM 28 Cabin, SM 28 Open, SM 34 Cabin by Nautica Stilmar and further series:
On an inflatable the cause decides, not the damage: a tear from impact is covered,
porous fabric after years in the sun is not.
The outboard belongs in the policy with its serial number.
