Oromarine s.r.l. is an Italian builder of rigid inflatable boats, the gommoni of the Italian coast. A GRP hull meets a tube collar all round, and the boats are generally driven by outboards: the Coupè S11, for example, is designed for twin outboards and certified for CE category B. The line names make them easy to place. Sport stands for the small open boats, Coupe for the models with a deck structure and C for the longest hulls, while the numbers follow no single system.
Our records list nine Oromarine models, all rigid inflatables and all recorded from 2018 into the latest build years. The Sport line has the S-65 at 6.5 metres and the S-78 at 7.8 metres. The Coupe line covers the Coupe Sport S9 at 8.5, the Coupe S11 at 9.95 and the Coupe S13 at 12.45 metres. These are fast boats for Mediterranean days: island hops, a swim stop, a run into a harbour for lunch. The tubes need sun protection and a regular clean, and a cradle or a soft berth spares them from rubbing on the pontoon. Twin outboards want fresh water flushing after every trip. The S-65 travels on a trailer, while the big Coupe and C models usually wait on a buoy or a marina berth.
