We found no reliable source for its location, founding or designers, so this page sticks to what the records show. The names give the range its character: Corfu, Paros, Samos, Serifos and Siros are Greek islands, Rodi is the Italian name for Rhodes, and Altair and Antares are stars. Numbers in the names usually point to length, in centimetres for the Corfu Plus 185 and in decimetres for the Altair Lux 20.

We count 23 Plastimar models: 17 inflatables and 6 RIBs. The inflatables fall into the Altair Lux, Antares Lux, Corfu Plus, Light, Serifos Plus, Siros Plus and TeeToo lines plus the single PX 279, running from 1.85 metres (Corfu Plus 185) to 3.43 metres (TeeToo 34). Eleven of them stay at 2.45 metres or less. The RIBs come in the Paros, Rodi Prof and Samos lines, from the 4.7 metre Paros 460 to the 5.75 metre Rodi Prof 580. The small inflatables usually fold down and travel in a car boot, which makes them natural tenders and beach boats. The RIBs from 4.7 metres ride on a trailer and launch from a slipway. With the newest build years at 2017, every Plastimar on the water today has a few seasons behind it, so check tube seams and valves before each summer, rinse off salt and sand after use, and store the boat dry and out of direct sun over winter.
