Pollard Jachtbouw builds steel motor yachts in Steenwijk, in the north east of the Netherlands. The yard was set up by the brothers Herman and Jan Pollard, who had earlier welded hulls for other builders. Each yacht is finished to the owner's brief, so two identical Pollards are rare. The boats are recognised by their lines, Coastliner, Silence, Pollux and Cabrio, by a number that roughly gives the length in feet, and by a suffix for the layout: OC for an open aft cockpit, Sedan for an enclosed saloon, plus AC versions. A Coastliner 40 is therefore about twelve metres long.

Our model records list 26 Pollard models, all classed as motor yachts. Build years start in 2010, and eight models continue into current production. Lengths run from eleven to 15 metres, half of them between twelve and 13, with a median of 12.7. The Coastliner line makes up the largest share with twelve models, from the Coastliner 35 Sedan at eleven metres through the 38, 40, 42 and 43 to the 45 Sedan at 14 metres. The Silence line has seven models between the 36 at eleven metres and the 43 at 13, while the Pollux 49 and 50 reach 15 metres. Three Cabrio models between eleven and 13.6 metres and the Avenger 43 AC complete the list.

These steel yachts are made for canals, rivers and large inland lakes, and many cross borders on long summer cruises. Steel forgives knocks at locks but needs watching for corrosion, so paint condition and hull thickness readings matter when judging value.
