Post Marine Group LLC carries on the Post Yachts name. Its roots go back to Post Marine, founded by Russell Post in 1957 at Mays Landing on New Jersey's Great Egg Harbor River to build traditional Jersey style fishing boats in small numbers. The Post 42 Sport Fisherman of 1974 made the name. In December 2011 Post Marine Group LLC bought the assets of the old company and moved operations to Chestertown, Maryland. A Post is easy to spot: long hull, high flared bow, flybridge on the Convertibles and mahogany and teak below.
Our model records list eight Post designs, all motor yachts. Six are flybridge Convertibles, the 42, 47, 50, 53, 56 and 66; two are Open versions, the 42 Open and the 53 Open. Seven models start with build year 2009, the 66 Convertible followed in 2012, and all eight run into the most recent build years. These are boats for long runs offshore to the fishing grounds and for tournament weekends. A Post lives on a deep water berth, and its twin diesels, generators and fishing gear need a proper service routine. Teak decks and varnished mahogany want attention every season, and a haul out for antifouling and running gear checks keeps the hull fast.
