Rampage Sport Fishing Yachts; cover, cost and conditions
Rampage Sport Fishing Yachts is an American sportfishing brand that has belonged to KCS International since 1993, with boats built in Oconto, Wisconsin. Rampage builds semi custom yachts for anglers who head offshore: solid fibreglass deep V hulls, a big cockpit for fighting fish and a layout shaped around the day's fishing. The names tell the story. The number is close to the length in feet, and the suffix gives the layout: Express with an open bridge behind the windscreen, Walkaround with side decks around the cabin, Convertible and Fly with a flybridge, Offshore for the stripped down fishing version.
Our model records list ten Rampage designs, all motor yachts. Five are Express models, the 30, 33, 34, 38 and 41, joined by the 30 Offshore, the 30 Walkaround, the 34 IPS with pod drives, the 45 Convertible and the 45 Fly. Build years run from 2002 to 2022, with the 38 Express spanning the whole period. The three 30 foot models measure 9.45 metres, three more sit between 10.19 and 10.85 metres, and four run from 13.05 metres up to the 14.64 metre 45 Fly.
A Rampage spends its life on offshore runs, early starts and long days in the cockpit. Salt, fish blood and bait leave their mark, so a fresh water wash after every trip keeps fittings and hatches in shape. Engines, outriggers and electronics need regular service, and a berth with good shore power suits these boats better than a dry stack.
