Sangermani is a family yard from Liguria. Ettore Sangermano founded it in 1896 at Mulinetti near Recco; the family came from Piedmont, and only a clerical error turned Sangermano into Sangermani. The yard moved to Rapallo in 1936, to Riva Trigoso in 1944, where it also built workboats, and finally to Lavagna in 1946, where it still operates. Its craft is the wooden sailing yacht. In the eighties it began combining wood with layers of carbon fibre laid at 45 degrees, saving weight while keeping the structure strong. The fourth generation runs the business today, with the focus on restoration and maintenance.
