Sarins Båtar is a family boatbuilder in Karleby, Kokkola in Finnish, on the Gulf of Bothnia. Edy Sarin founded it in 1967, and the second generation now runs it. Its first model, in 1976, was the Minor 650 with an aft cabin. The boats were sold as Minor until 2014, then as Sargo, a name built from Sarin and the English go. The yard builds cabin motor boats for rough coastal water, as well as coastguard, rescue and taxi boats. On a Sargo the number gives the length in feet, often followed by Explorer or Fly.

Our model records list 33 models, 26 motor yachts and seven motor boats, from 1984 into current production, with twelve still being built. Lengths go from 6.4 to 14.6 metres, half between eight and 10.4 metres. Nineteen models carry the Minor name, from the Minor 800 Camper of 1984 to the Minor 37 WR at eleven metres. The 14 Sargo models run from the Sargo 25 at 7.85 metres to the Sargo 45 at 14.6 metres, almost every size also as an Explorer.

These boats are used hard and long, in the Baltic and well into autumn; the enclosed wheelhouse and heating make them year round boats in the north. On a used Minor or Sargo, value comes from engine hours, hull and glazing, heating and electronics, and whether it wintered under cover.
