Two ranges have been handed down, the motor yacht Pandora from 1971 to 1980 and the sailing yacht Brigand from 1970 to 1977. When buying such a boat the question arises of how the value is recorded in the policy. For that we set an agreed value.
On this basis the full hull cover pays compensation with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), in the Premium tariff with no age limit. We provide cover regardless of the year of construction, the place of purchase and previous owners. Legal expenses cover for water sports can be included and takes effect in the event of a dispute after the purchase of a used boat.
Depending on the type of boat, either the engine power or the sail area counts towards the premium, plus the type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range. Third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros carries the policy, and the boat trailer is included in the boat insurance at no extra premium.

Are there differences between a motor yacht and a sailing yacht?

For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value. Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
