Anyone taking over a sailing yacht from the eighties buys used. The Judel / Vrolijk 43 was produced between 1981 and 1987 and is the only documented range of this yard. For the cover what counts is the value a replacement would require, recorded as an agreed value.
Place of purchase, previous owners and year of construction change nothing about insurability. Full hull cover pays indemnity with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old"), in the Premium tariff with no age limit for the boat. If a dispute with the seller arises after the purchase, legal expenses cover for water sports applies, which we offer alongside.
On a sailing yacht the sail area rather than the engine power enters the premium, plus value, year of construction and cruising range. Club races are included from Basis-Plus upwards. The basis remains third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros in three tariff levels.
