Worth knowing
Seaway; cover, cost and conditions
For Seaway 29 model ranges are recorded, listed under the name Greenline. Among them are motor yachts such as the Greenline 39 Hybrid since 2014, the Greenline 40 Hybrid since 2008 and the Greenline Ocean Class 68 since 2018. From our own portfolio, a Greenline 33 is insured with us.
The Greenline 33 Hybrid was built from 2006 to 2024, the Greenline 45 Coupé Hybrid from 2017 to 2022. Premium and cover are determined by the type of boat, year of construction, value, engine power and cruising range. You agree the cruising range in the contract, and you receive the international certificate of insurance in ten languages.
We provide third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros you take out the policy online; above that we review the application individually. In full hull cover an agreed value applies with no deduction for depreciation, and there is no night clause.

As the Greenline 39 Hybrid, Greenline 40 Hybrid,
Greenline 45 Coupe by Seaway and 5 more series are still in production,
parts are available and repair costs are predictable.
Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
For the Greenline 33 Hybrid, Greenline 45 Coupé Hybrid,
Greenline 48 Hybrid by Seaway and 17 more series the market value and the replacement cost often
differ widely.
An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
For the Currawong 30 by Seaway series there is no list price left.
That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it,
and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
For the Greenline 39 Hybrid, Greenline 40 Hybrid, Greenline 45 Coupe by Seaway and further series:
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value.
Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
For the Shipman 63, Shipman 72, Shipman 80 by Seaway and further series:
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts:
a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat,
and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
