Worth knowing
Technicoque; cover, cost and conditions
The Half Ton was built between 1982 and 1989 and is listed as a sailing yacht. After such a long period it is no longer a price list that decides on the replacement, but the agreed value: it is set when the contract is taken out, is recorded in the contract and is paid with no deduction for depreciation.
In the Premium tariff full hull cover applies with no age limit, so that older yachts also keep the full extent of hull cover. Covered are collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard, and through limited hull cover additionally fire, storm, lightning strike and damage in winter storage.
If the yacht is sailed in regattas, club races are included from the Basis-Plus tariff upwards. Races with scoring status are to be declared when the contract is taken out so that they are checked and recorded in the contract. For the premium the sail area counts, not the brand.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Why is the agreed value decisive on older yachts?
Because it fixes the value bindingly in the contract. In the event of a claim this sum is paid with no deduction for depreciation, regardless of how long ago the building period was.
From which tariff are regattas covered?
Club races are included from Basis-Plus upwards. Races with scoring status are to be reported when the contract is taken out, and we then include them in the contract after checking.

Series by Technicoque, build years and cover
Half Ton is a sailing yacht from Technicoque, built from 1982 to 1989.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
