On the New Compact sailing boat the sail area counts where on motorboats the engine power stands. The New Compact has been built since 1991, and in addition there are the Comandante as a motorboat and the Miss Geneva as a motor yacht from the years of construction 2007 to 2013.
Four ranges are thus spread across three types of boat and two separate construction periods. The same basis applies to each: the third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros in the tariff levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium, and building on it limited hull cover or full hull cover.
Production ended in 2013, and every unit changes hands second hand today. The agreed value holds the amount that has been fixed, indemnity is paid with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), in the Premium tariff with no age limit. Club races are included from the Basis-Plus tariff level upwards.

For the Waeger Comandante, Waeger Miss Geneva and New Compact by Wäger series the market value and
the replacement cost often differ widely.
An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
For the New Compact by Wäger series there is no list price left.
That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it,
and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.

On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part.
Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
For the Waeger Miss Geneva by Wäger series:
On motor yachts the drive and the electronics together make up about half the value.
Both belong in the valuation, otherwise the sum insured is too low.
For the New Compact by Wäger series: On boats this size the condition of rig and fittings decides.
A dismasting is covered, worn terminals after years are not.
