Two sailing yacht ranges are recorded: the Castle 48 with years of construction from 1971 to 1987 and the Ruffian 28 from 1981 to 1987. Both production runs are complete. The basis of every contract remains the third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros.
Which amount applies depends on the tariff level Basis, Basis-Plus or Premium. On this, limited hull cover or full hull cover builds. The full hull cover works with an agreed value and pays compensation with no deduction for depreciation (new for old), in the Premium tariff with no age limit, which counts with these years of construction.
On sailing yachts the sail area enters into the calculation instead of the engine power, along with type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners, and the legal expenses cover for water sports can be added.

How high is the third-party liability cover on a sailing yacht?

Can a yacht with year of construction 1971 still be accepted?
Yes, year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners do not stand in the way of acceptance. In the Premium tariff the full hull cover applies with no age limit and with an agreed value.
