Brune Yachtbau is based in Erftstadt, about twenty minutes west of Cologne. Its roots go back four generations to a joinery founded by Willi Brune's great-grandfather, which began by making furniture. Willi Brune is a master carpenter who later also qualified as a master boatbuilder, and his love of sailing grew into a second branch of the family firm. He has crossed the Atlantic three times himself. The yard works in aluminium, steel, GRP and timber and takes on refits with demanding joinery as well as new builds. The Rhine gives it a water route to Rotterdam and the North Sea. A 2010 B60 pilothouse built under the yard's name has appeared on the brokerage market.
