Three sailing yacht model ranges are recorded under Yacht Hornet: the Hornet 29 since 2007, the Hornet 24 since 2010 and the Hornet 21 with years of build from 2011 to 2017. With sailing yachts the sail area takes the place of the engine output when NAMMERT calculates the premium.
Two of the ranges run to this day, one is completed. For the contract that makes no difference: full hull cover works with an agreed value, indemnifies with no deduction for depreciation (new for old) and applies in the Premium tariff with no age limit. Collision and grounding are included in it.
Club races are included from Basis-Plus, races with scoring status you declare when taking out the policy. The basis remains third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros. The boat trailer runs along free of premium, and the cover applies in winter storage as well as during craning and launching.

Why does NAMMERT ask for the sail area?
Because with sailing craft it takes the place of the engine output. Together with type of boat, value, year of build and cruising range it produces the premium, regardless of the manufacturer.
Are races with scoring status included?
Club races are contained from Basis-Plus. Races with scoring status you declare when taking out the policy, so that they can be taken into account in the contract.

Hornet 21 is a sailing yacht from Yacht Hornet, built from 2011 to 2017.
As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
