Angelo e Renato Molinari is a Como family name with a firm place in powerboat racing history. From the mid 1960s Angelo Molinari and his son Renato built the first wooden outboard tunnel boats that led to Formula One racing on water, and Renato won the class's first world title in 1981. The yard on Lake Como also turned out leisure sports boats, among them the Falcon range, tested by the Italian boating press under the Molinari Renato name. Three digit numbers roughly give the length in centimetres, while the Falcon 26 CX and 30 Sport are named in feet.

Recorded build years run from 1979 to 1998, and none is still in production. Lengths range from 3.7 to 9.7 metres, half of them between 4.9 and 6.3 metres. The earlier Molinari line spans the 360 at 3.7 metres to the 650 and 651 at 6.4 metres. The 1990s Falcon range runs from the Falcon 490 at 4.9 metres through the 530 and 630 to the Falcon 30 Sport at 9.7 metres.

Today these boats are collectors' pieces as much as runabouts. Most were built for fast outboard use on the Italian lakes and along the coast. Value rests on originality, the condition of hull and deck, the engine and its history, and the quality of any restoration. A Falcon with its original layout and documented work usually counts for more than a heavily modified one.
