Hansvik is a Norwegian maker of fibreglass boats from Rørvik on the Trøndelag coast, known above all for its Combi boats. After the company went bankrupt in autumn 2011, Roger Hansvik revived the name. According to the magazine Båtmagasinet, the 630 Comfort Speed has since been built in Croatia and the smaller boats near Gdańsk in Poland. Two digit numbers such as 14 or 18 give the length in feet, so an 18 Combi is 5.5 metres. Three digit numbers such as 430 or 700 give it in centimetres.
Our model records list 24 Hansvik models: 23 motorboats and the 950 Sport Cruiser, filed as a motor yacht. Build years run from 1993 to 2027, and 18 models continue into current production. Lengths range from 2.3 to 9.1 metres, with half between 4.55 and 5.6 metres. The range starts with the 8 and 10 dinghies at 2.3 and 3.05 metres, followed by the 14 Speed, 14.5 and 16.5 between 4.2 and 5 metres. The three digit models run from the 430 Roer rowing boat through the 600 Combi and 630 Comfort Speed to the seven metre 700 Combi. The 9.05 metre 950 Sport Cruiser is the longest.
Most Hansvik boats are practical coastal craft for fishing close to shore, reaching a cabin on an island or crossing the fjord, and many live on a trailer or in a boathouse. When one changes hands, the engine and its hours usually decide more than the hull, followed by the console, canopy and electronics.
