HR Boat AB; cover, cost and conditions
HR Boat, also known in Sweden as Höga Rodd, is a Swedish company based in Laxå. Since the mid 1970s it has built and sold rowing boats, console boats and small cabin boats for lakes, the archipelago and sheltered coast. Spotting one is simple: every model carries the letters HR and a three digit number that gives the length in centimetres quite precisely, so an HR 330 is 3.3 metres long and an HR 602 about 6 metres. Letters after the number mark the layout, such as SC for the steering console, CC for a centre console and Fishing for the angling version.
Our model records list 29 HR Boat models, all of them small motor boats. Recorded build years begin in 1993 with the HR 470 and reach the present day, with 13 models continuing into current production. Lengths run from 3.3 to 6.3 metres, and half of the models fall between 4.3 and 5.1 metres. At the small end sit the HR 325 and HR 330 at 3.3 metres, in the middle the HR 440 SC, 442 SC and 480 SC console boats at 4.5 to 4.8 metres, and at the top the HR 532 CC and 602 CC at 5.4 and 6 metres plus the HR 630 WA at 6.3 metres.
These boats live at the summer cottage jetty or on a trailer, carrying families to islands and anglers to their spots. Their value rests on the outboard hung on the transom, the condition of the hull and whether the layout, console, centre console or small cabin, suits the buyer.
