Hydrolift builds fast powerboats in Fredrikstad in southern Norway, home to its factory and showroom, and belongs to the Eker Group. The range has two sides: leisure boats, today mainly the X series, and the PRO series for rescue, firefighting and patrol work. In our records C, S and X mark the leisure lines, E the compact E-22 and P the professional boats. The number is roughly the length in feet, so a C-24 measures 7.7 metres and a P42 12.6 metres.
Our model records list 30 Hydrolift models, 28 powerboats and two classed as motor yachts. Build years run from 2003 to 2027, and 12 models are still in production. Lengths range from 6.7 to 13.6 metres, with half between 8.1 and 12.6 metres. The C series runs from the C-24 (7.7 m) to the C-33 Cab (10.1 m), the S series covers 6.7 to 9.0 metres, and the X series goes from the X-22 (6.7 m) to the X-32 S (9.6 m). Ten entries are P42 variants at 12.6 metres, such as SAR, Firefighter and Tender, or 13.6 metres as the SUV, joined by the P-27 Fire and Police at 8.1 metres.
A Hydrolift is bought for speed in rough water, be it a summer run through the Oslofjord islands or a rescue call in a winter gale. Engines shape value more than anything else: their size and hours, the state of the hull after hard running, and the electronics fitted. Professional boats add their own kit, from fire pumps to patrol fit-outs, making each close to a one-off.
