Despite its Mediterranean name, Ibiza is a Norwegian brand. The yard was founded in 1991 and builds in Sørlandet, in the Agder region on Norway's south coast, handling design and production in one place. Hulls are hand laid in polyester and drawn for Scandinavian archipelago waters, with safe access to the foredeck and an open cockpit. Older two digit names give the length roughly in feet, newer three digit ones in decimetres, so an Ibiza 811 is 8.11 metres long. The suffix gives the layout: Touring, Sport, Bow Rider, Weekender or Twin Cab.
Our model records list 27 models: 23 motorboats and four listed as motor yachts. Build years run from 2002 to 2027, and nine models are still in production. Lengths range from 6.1 to 9.1 metres, with half of them between 6.4 and 8.1 metres. The older generation runs from the 19 Sport at 6.1 metres to the 28 Twin Cab at 8.6, most built until around 2017. The current Touring line starts with the 640 at 6.4 metres and continues through the 680, 711 and 770 to the 811 and the 911 Touring at 9.11 metres. The Explorer and Grand Explorer share the lengths of the 811 and 911.
These are day and weekend cruisers for skerries, large lakes and sheltered coast, and many are towed between cruising grounds. On the used market, value hinges on engine choice and hours, the state of the hand laid hull and gelcoat, and the electronics and canvas fitted. A boat that has spent its winters indoors in Norway usually shows it in the finish.
