Switching insurer often fails simply because of the cancellation. A Landau Elite 255 is already sailing in our own portfolio, and anyone wishing to bring their Landau to us does not have to deal with the previous policy: we cancel it free of charge, and the new cover follows on without a gap.
The policy itself follows clear rules: third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros as the basis, plus either limited hull cover against fire, storm, lightning strike and theft or full hull cover with an agreed value. Compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).
What counts for the premium is not the name Landau, but the type of boat, value, year of construction, engine power and cruising range. Cover can be taken out online up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros. In this way the switch is completed in a few steps and the boat remains insured without interruption.
