Maguire Boats is the yard of British boatbuilder Simon Maguire. It started in 2012 in a small garage and now works from its own facility in the UK with a small team. Everything there revolves around the Exocet, a foiling Moth designed by Kevin Ellway of Aero-Hydrodynamic Design and developed together with Maguire and a group of experienced British Moth sailors. The first Exocet was launched in 2013, and the design has been refined ever since. The hull is a sandwich of ultra-high modulus carbon skins over a very thin foam core, laminated with epoxy. You know an Exocet by its narrow, low hull, the wide wings the helm sits out on and the lifting foils beneath daggerboard and rudder.

Spare foils, sails and a road trailer often change hands with the boat and add real value to the package.
