Pedro-Boat is based in Zuidbroek in the Dutch province of Groningen and has been building motorboats since 1973. It is a family business now run by the second generation, focused on yachts up to 15 metres, and it also offers transport, winter storage, maintenance and refits. The most familiar Pedro is the Donky, whose open cockpit design has been built in several sizes for many years. The Levanto is a little larger than the Skiron and comes in lengths from 9.70 to 13.40 metres.

Our model records list 15 motor yachts. Fourteen carry the Pedro name, and the list adds the Gillissen Vlet 1080 from 1988 to 1994, whose origin the source does not explain. The Donky line takes in the Donky 30`, 34`, 37 and 42`, the Levanto line the 32`, 38`, 40 and 44`. Alongside them sit the Skiron 35`, Bora 43, H2home 1150 and 1490, Liberty 1250 and Vendaval 48. The oldest Pedro entry is the Donky 34` from 1994, and the Vendaval 48 joined as the newest line in 2018. All 14 Pedro designs reach into the most recent build years. Lengths range from 9.12 metres for the Donky 30` to 14.9 metres for the H2home 1490.

Dutch motor yachts of this kind are made for long days on rivers, canals and lakes, often across borders and with plenty of time spent in locks. On a used boat that shows in the rubbing strakes, the fender points and the paint along the topsides. Engine hours, service records and the state of the drive train are worth checking on any example. An older Donky with a well kept open cockpit says a lot about its owner, since an open layout is exposed to rain and sun. Canvas, upholstery and teak need regular attention. Air draft matters too: a yacht that fits under the bridges of its home waters is far easier to move around.
