Reef Runner Boats is a Florida builder whose roots lie in work boats. The first hulls were made to cope with the daily grind of marine construction and commercial fishing, and the leisure boats built today grew out of that background. The range consists of centre consoles: open hulls with the helm in the middle of the deck, a walkway all the way round and plenty of clear space for fishing. The builder points to a composite stringer system, so there is no wood inside the hull. The 280 Open runs a single Mercury outboard, the 340 Open a pair, and the larger boat is offered as a semi-custom build. The look is plain and purposeful: an open deck, a console and the engines on the transom.
