Rheinlandboote is a company from Troisdorf near Cologne whose name sits on small aluminium fishing boats. The best known is the Pike Hunter, an open boat for predator fishing on the Rhine, lakes and reservoirs. These boats are flat, light and laid out for anglers: open deck space, room for a sonar and a bow mounted electric motor, a small outboard on the transom. The names Pike Hunter and Fusion, a number giving roughly the length in centimetres and the tags Gen II and Gen III for successive versions identify them.

Our model records list seven Rheinlandboote designs, all motorboats between 4.4 and 6.2 metres. Four are Pike Hunters: the 4.4 metre 440, the 5.01 metre 500 and the 530 Gen II and Gen III at 5.3 metres each. The RRF 530 has the same length. The Fusion models are the 5.53 metre C-Fusion and the 6.2 metre Bassfusion 600, the longest boat. The earliest entry is the Pike Hunter 530 Gen II from 2016. The Pike Hunter 440, C-Fusion and Bassfusion 600 run into the newest build years, the others end between 2024 and 2026.

A Pike Hunter lives on its trailer and goes in at whichever ramp is closest to the fish. Aluminium copes well with knocks from stones and groynes, but rinse the hull and the trailer after use and keep an eye on rivets and welds. Sonar, batteries and the electric motor are best taken home between trips.
