Roth Bilt Boats is the trading name of Roth Boat Builders of Marshfield, Massachusetts, on the South Shore below Boston. The firm goes back to the Roth family, though sources disagree on the year it started. The boats are not built in the United States but in Poland, and they cross the Atlantic complete. The partner yard is Haber Yachts: Haber designed the RB 24 Classic entirely on its own, while the RB 21 Classic prototype was a joint effort. The layouts tell the boats apart. The RB 18 is a center console with the helm amidships, the RB 21 comes as a center console or with a cabin, and the RB 24 is offered as an outboard center console.

Our model records list seven designs, all motorboats, in three sizes with Classic, Sport and Cabin versions. The RB 18 Classic opens the list in 2001, with the RB 18 Sport following from 2005; both measure 5.38 metres. The RB 21 appears three times at 7.01 metres: the RB 21 Classic and RB 21 Cabin from 2002 and the RB 21 Sport from 2012. A center console lives an outdoor life. Seats, cushions and the console itself sit in sun and rain all season, so hatches, hinges and drainage deserve a look on any used RB. Scuppers must run freely, and the bilge should stay dry after a hose test. With an outboard on the transom, check the transom around the bolts for soft spots, the engine hours and the state of the steering cables or hydraulics. Since many smaller boats travel by road, the trailer, its bunks, brakes and lights are part of the inspection. A cabin version such as the RB 21 Cabin adds windows and seals that may start to weep with age.
