Scarani S.L.; cover, cost and conditions

Scarani is a Spanish yard building sports boats and small cabin cruisers. The range goes from open boats for a day out to daycruisers, weekend cruisers for the coast and cabin boats aimed at anglers. On some models the hull is laid up by infusion around a PVC foam core. The Daycruiser 35 is regarded as the flagship, the Cruiser 25 as the entry to the cabin boats. Each name starts with the line, Sol, Cruiser, Daycruiser, Coral or Cabin Fish, followed by a number close to the length in feet, from the five metre Sol 17 to the Daycruiser 35 at just over eleven metres.

Our model records list 20 Scarani designs, 14 motorboats and 6 motor yachts, across five lines: five each of Sol, Cruiser and Daycruiser, three Cabin Fish and two Coral. Fifteen of them start in 2003, the Coral 21 and Sol 21 follow in 2005, the Daycruiser 30 and 35 in 2006 and the Coral 30 in 2009. Four lines are recorded until 2022: Cabin Fish 24, Cruiser 25, Cruiser 31 and Sol 18. Nine models stay below 7 metres, eight sit between 7.2 and 8.9 metres and three go beyond, the Coral 30, the Cruiser 31 and the Daycruiser 35.

Most Scaranis are light enough to tow, so the boat often spends the week on a trailer at home and the weekend at a slipway on the coast. That rhythm rewards a rinse with fresh water after every trip and an eye on the trailer bearings. The larger cruisers from nine metres usually stay on a marina berth, where fenders and mooring lines matter more than the trailer.
