One motorboat is on record, the Semacraft K498, in production since 2022 and to this day. On a recent motorboat the engine power determines the premium alongside type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range. The brand itself never enters the calculation, regardless of where the boat was bought.
Full hull cover works with an agreed value, so that even after some years compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old").
Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros the policy is taken out online, above that an individual assessment follows. A boat trailer is included at no extra premium, and the cover applies during launching, during craning, in winter storage and while in transport.

Which factors determine the premium for a new motorboat?
Type of boat, value, year of construction, engine power and cruising range. The manufacturer plays no part. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros online conclusion is possible.
Is a deduction for depreciation applied after a few years?
No. Full hull cover pays on the basis of the agreed value with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old"), in the Premium tariff with no age limit. The value is stated in the contract as early as when the policy is taken out.

Semacraft K498 is a motorboat from Semacraft, built since 2022.
As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
