Tansal Marine is based in Manavgat in the Turkish province of Antalya, with its factory at Pınarlı. By its own account the company started in 1987 as a water sports service business and built its first boat, a parasailing boat, in 1996. It now builds sports and fishing boats, motor yachts and catamarans such as the Tancat 46 Sea Bus, and also sells boats and engines of other brands. Its own models use short series codes followed by the length in feet: CC for centre console, WA for walkaround, PR for the Paraliner, MY for the yacht.
Our model records list 30 models under this name: 25 motorboats, three motor yachts, one sailing catamaran and one sailing boat. Build years run from 2003 to 2027, and eight models are still in production. Lengths range from 2.5 to 13.9 metres, half of them between 4.6 and 7.0 metres. The CC line runs from the CC 15 at 4.5 metres to the CC 21 at 6.2, the WA line from the WA 15 up to the WA 23 at 6.9 metres. Above them come the Paraliner 32 at 9.6 metres, the PR 36 at 10.9 and the MY 46 and Sea Bus 46 at 13.9 metres each. The Seafox and Mariah entries belong to brands Tansal sells as a dealer.
Many of these boats were built for the Turkish Riviera: water sports stations, hotel beaches, day trips and fishing. Hours of commercial use, the state of the gelcoat under strong sun, and the outboards or diesels fitted weigh more on value than the model year alone.
