Treeve Boats; cover, cost and conditions
Treeve Boats builds small leisure boats with a classic look, mostly motorboats plus one sailing boat. The range falls into two families. The Cove Boat 16 is an open day boat of about five metres, offered with either an inboard engine or an outboard. The DS range spans larger boats from 18 to 24 feet, the number naming the length in feet. The RS 18 shares the length of the DS 18 but goes under sail. Quiet, traditional lines tie them together.
Our records list six Treeve models: five motorboats and one sailing boat. The Cove Boat 16 appears twice, as the inboard version at 4.94 metres from 2011 to 2022 and as the outboard version at 4.92 metres from 2011 to 2021. The DS range starts in 2013 and runs to 2021: the DS 18 at 5.52 metres, the DS 20 at 6.1 metres and the DS 24 at 7.5 metres. The RS 18 sailing boat matches the DS 18 at 5.52 metres and spans the same years.
Up to the DS 20 these boats tow easily, so many owners keep them at home and launch at the nearest slipway. The DS 24 is more of a mooring or marina boat. Classic styling often means varnished wood and traditional fittings that like a canvas between outings, and the RS 18 rig wants its standing rigging checked each spring.
