White Shark F.B.M.; cover, cost and conditions
White Shark is a French brand of open motorboats, known for its open and day boat models with a deep V hull. The letters F.B.M. in the name refer to French Boat Market, the company that took over White Shark in 2020 and had the boats built on the Atlantic island of Noirmoutier. French Boat Market went into liquidation in March 2025. Later that year MPC, based in Saint-Saturnin-lès-Avignon, acquired the moulds and the rights to the brand, and it has since teamed up with Yamaha Motor Europe for engines and rigging. The boats are recognisable by their tall centre console with a screen, the flared bow and the letters CC for centre console.
Our model records list three designs, all motorboats and all still in production into the most recent build years. The Origin line contributes the 250 CC Origin at 7.47 metres and the 270 SC Origin at 8.11 metres, both from 2018. The 280 CC Evo is the largest White Shark in our list at 8.75 metres and starts in 2020. All three sit between seven and a half and almost nine metres, a size that, depending on the outboards fitted, lends itself to coastal runs, fishing and watersports. Two of the three carry the CC tag for the centre console layout, while the 270 SC breaks the pattern.
An open boat with outboards lives with salt, sun and spray, so the checks on a used example are fairly clear. Ask for engine hours and service records for every outboard, look at the transom around the engine brackets and at the steering cables and hydraulics. Upholstery and sunpads fade and split first, and the console screen can craze. Because the brand changed hands in 2020 and again in 2025, it is worth asking which yard and which period a particular hull comes from. On a trailer boat, check the trailer itself: rollers, brakes, lights and the winch strap take more punishment than the hull.
