Young Boats is the trading name of GulfShore Mfg Inc. in Inglis, Florida. The yard builds custom-finished flats and bay boats, the shallow-water fishing craft used for sight fishing along the Gulf coast. The GulfShore 26 was developed at the request of fishing guides on Florida's west coast and grew out of the smaller 20 and 24-foot GulfShore models. It is recognised by its raised helm, which gives the skipper a high view over the water, by casting decks fore and aft, and by a hull that draws only about 16 inches.
Our model records list one Young Boats design, the GulfShore 26. It is entered as a motorboat of 8.14 metres, starting with build year 2019 and running into the most recent build years, so it is a boat from current production. Published specifications give 26 feet 6 inches overall, a beam of 8 feet 9 inches, a 14-degree deadrise, a dry weight of about 4,500 pounds and a maximum rating of 350 horsepower. There are three live wells and seating for six. The smaller 20 and 24-foot GulfShore boats are not yet in our records.
