Dynamique; cover, cost and conditions
Dynamique Yachts was a French builder of large sailing yachts based in Andilly. It was founded by Chantal Jeanneau, daughter of Henri Jeanneau, and the yard and its name later passed to Dufour. Every boat it built was a sailing yacht, and none of them small. Two name families mark the range: the Express models, the first of which, the Express 44, came from the drawing board of Joubert and Nivelt, and the later boats called Dynamique with a number close to their length in feet.
Our records list eleven Dynamique designs, all sailing yachts. Four are Express models (44, 50, 62 and 80) built between 1978 and 1989, six carry the Dynamique name (47, 52, 58, 62, 80 and 110) with build years from 1982 to 1997, and the Orient-Express ran from 1979 to 1986. They measure from 13.15 metres for the Express 44 to 33.2 metres for the Dynamique 110, and six of the eleven are longer than 18 metres.
With 1997 as the latest build year, every Dynamique afloat today has a long history behind it. Many have been refitted, and the condition of rig, deck and engine matters more than the original specification. Yachts of this size need a deep water berth, a yard with a big travel lift and, in many cases, a professional crew for longer passages.
