Ege Yat builds boats in Turkey; the name is the Turkish word for the Aegean. The range is unusually wide: small angling and console boats, cabin boats with a wheelhouse, sailing yachts with and without a deck saloon, and sailing catamarans. You recognise the motorboats by the high bow carried well forward and the enclosed wheelhouse meant for fishing in any weather, and the sailing yachts by the flat long sheer and, on the DS models, the raised saloon with windows all round.

Build years start in 2000 and run into current production. One yard building both a six metre fishing boat and a sailing catamaran is unusual, and the two share almost nothing. What they do share is the water they were drawn for: the Aegean has short steep seas and a summer wind that gets up in the afternoon, which is why the fishing boats carry so much bow and the sailing models are cut for reaching rather than for light airs.
