Worth knowing
Enault; cover, cost and conditions
Small series and home-built boats can be insured with NAMMERT, and that is what matters with model ranges that ended long ago. Three ranges are documented for Enault: the sailing boat Canot Normand, the sailing yacht Super Chenal and the motorboat Vedette Z 6, built between 1966 and 1975.
Production ended in the middle of the nineteen-seventies, and we have no further information on the yard. That changes nothing about access to cover: we insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners. In hull insurance an agreed value applies, and compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).
Because the programme mixes sailing boats and motorboats, the premium characteristics differ: in one case the sail area, in the other the engine output. Added to these are the type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range. Third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros stands behind it in every case.
Questions and answers
Frequent questions
Can a boat from the nineteen-sixties still be insured?
Yes. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners. For hull insurance we agree an agreed value, and compensation is paid with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).
Does cover also apply to a boat rebuilt by its owner?
Small series and home-built boats can be insured. What matters are the type of boat, value, year of construction, engine output or sail area, and cruising range, not the question of who built the boat.

Certificate of insurance for foreign harbours; check that racing is covered.

Series by Enault, build years and cover
Canot Normand is a sailing boat from Enault, built from 1967 to 1975.
Super Chenal is a sailing yacht from Enault, built from 1967 to 1975.
Vedette Z 6 is a motorboat from Enault, built from 1966 to 1975.
For a series of this age there is no list price left. That is why we work with an agreed value: you state the figure, we agree it, and in a total loss exactly that amount is paid, with no deduction for wear.
On boats this size the condition of rig and fittings decides. A dismasting is covered, worn terminals after years are not.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
