Enavigo builds boats in Virovitica in northern Croatia that pair classic lines with modern engineering. The yard works mainly in wood, using current production methods. On the Power 39H motorboat that means a cold-moulded hull in wood and epoxy, a light superstructure of carbon over a PVC core, teak decks and an interior in khaya mahogany. The model takes its cue from the cruisers of the American Pacific Northwest in the 1930s. The 36 Day Sailer is a daysailer with a plumb bow, bowsprit, T keel and spade rudder, aiming for racing pace with a classic look. The K850 is an unsinkable wooden training boat on which cadets learn to row and sail; it passed the capsize test under EN 12217-2, so its crew can right it unaided.

Wood and epoxy boats reward an owner who keeps an eye on the finish. Varnish on brightwork wants regular attention, teak decks need cleaning without harsh scrubbing, and any chip in the epoxy skin should be sealed before water reaches the wood. On a used Enavigo, ask for the maintenance log and look at the transitions between hull and superstructure, where wood meets carbon. The daysailer and the racer are built for quick afternoons and club racing, the Power 39H for coastal trips at about fifteen knots. Croatian waters with their many short hops suit all of them well.
