Two ranges are recorded for Espace VAG: the Typick sailing boat from the years 1993 to 1999 and the Ikone 750 sailing yacht, built from 2013 to 2020. Both production periods are closed, and the boats nevertheless remain insurable. What counts for the premium is type of boat, value, year of build, sail area and cruising range, never the name of the yard.
Third-party liability with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros is available in the levels Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium. From Basis-Plus club races are included, and races with scoring status you state when taking out the policy. In full hull cover an agreed value secures the agreed amount.

Can a Typick from the 1990s still be insured?
Yes. We insure regardless of year of build, place of purchase and previous owners. The value is agreed via an agreed value in full hull cover and compensated in the event of a claim with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).
How are race starts treated?
Club races are included from the Basis-Plus level. Report races with scoring status when taking out the policy, so that they are expressly in the contract and covered.

For a series built in these years the market value and the replacement cost often differ widely. An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.
On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts: a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat, and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
