Three model ranges are on record, all in production since 2019: the Chichester Harbour 12 and the Chichester Scow as sailing boats and the Chichester Pilot as a motor boat. Because both types of propulsion occur, the premium is calculated differently, once via the sail area and once via the engine output.
In addition there are the type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range. The name of the yard never enters into the premium, and the size of the series changes nothing either: small series and home-built boats can be insured just as much as boats from current production. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros the policy is taken out online.
Third-party liability is available with a limit of indemnity of 10 to 50 million euros, graded across Basis, Basis-Plus and Premium. For small boats that travel between the slipway and the trailer, the cover also applies ashore, during craning, during launching, in transport and in winter storage.

Frequent questions
How is the premium for a Chichester Scow determined?
Via the type of boat, sail area, value, year of construction and cruising range. With the Chichester Pilot the engine output takes the place of the sail area. The brand itself has no effect on the premium.
Are newly built boats treated differently from used ones?
No. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners. In full hull cover the value is set as an agreed value and replaced in the event of a claim with no deduction for depreciation (new for old).

As the series is still in production, parts are available and repair costs are predictable. Even so, value it at replacement cost including retrofitted electronics, not at list price.
On boats this size the condition of rig and fittings decides. A dismasting is covered, worn terminals after years are not.
On a motorboat the drive is the single most valuable part. Damage after grounding is covered, an engine failure from wear is not.
