Helios Marine is based in Sofia, Bulgaria, and comes to boats from the propulsion side rather than from traditional boatbuilding. The company develops electric drives, marine batteries and the hardware and software used to control and monitor them. Under the Helios Yachts name it also builds boats of its own. The first is the Omega 7.2, a day cruiser designed from the outset as an electric boat rather than a converted petrol hull. It made its public debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in 2025. The Omega is easy to recognise by the solar roof over the helm and by how quietly it moves; it charges through a CCS1 fast-charging socket or from the sun, and the onboard system runs at a touch-safe 48 volts.
