Three Mascot ranges are recorded for Mortensen, the Mascot 20, the Mascot 24 and the Mascot 28, built between 1974 and 1987. With sailing boats of these years the agreed value is the decisive point: the value agreed is stated in the policy and is replaced with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old").
An age limit for full hull cover does not apply in the Premium tariff. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners, so the number of former owners plays no role either. Collision, grounding, vandalism and theft of parts including the outboard are covered under full hull cover.
For the premium we calculate with the sail area instead of the engine power on sailing boats, together with the type of boat, value, year of construction and cruising range. Club races are included from Basis-Plus onwards; report races with ranking status when taking out the policy. Cover also applies in winter storage and during craning.

What does agreed value mean in the event of a claim?
For Mortensen: The value recorded in the policy is replaced,
with no deduction for depreciation ("new for old") and without argument about the current market
value.
In the Premium tariff this applies with no age limit for the boat.
Can yachts from 1974 still be insured?
Yes, for Mortensen too: Year of construction,
place of purchase and previous owners change nothing about insurability.
Third-party liability, limited hull cover and full hull cover are open to older Mascot models too.
