Passport Yachts; cover, cost and conditions

Two model ranges for long passages are on record, the Passport 40 / 47 from 1980 to 2010 and the Passport 515 / 545 from 1995 to 2015, cruising yachts between 12 and 17 metres. Anyone sailing far calls at foreign ports. You receive the international certificate of insurance automatically in ten languages.

The yachts were built to designs by Robert Perry and are laid out for longer distances. For the policy this means above all that the cruising range should be settled from the outset, because alongside type of boat, value, year of construction and sail area it is one of the premium factors. If you extend your sailing area, we adjust the policy.

Both production periods are over, and the yachts change hands second-hand today. We insure regardless of year of construction, place of purchase and previous owners and record the value as an agreed value. Up to a sum insured of 2.5 million euros the policy is taken out online.

Series by Passport Yachts, with value and cover

Passport 40 / 47

Passport 40 / 47 is a sailing yacht from Passport Yachts (TW), built from 1980 to 2010,

and today changes hands at between €90,000 and €290,000.

Passport 515 / 545

Also a sailing yacht, built from 1995 to 2015, €290,000 to €690,000.

What this means for the cover

For the Passport 40 / 47 and Passport 515 / 545 by Passport Yachts series the market value and the

replacement cost often differ widely.

An agreed value removes the age-based scale, and the figure in the policy stands.

For the Passport 40 / 47, Passport 515 / 545 by Passport Yachts series:

On sailing yachts the rig and the underwater hull are the expensive parts:

a dismasting quickly costs a quarter of the boat,

and osmosis counts as wear and is covered by no hull policy.
