Northern Light Composites is based in Monfalcone, in the north-east of Italy on the Gulf of Trieste. The story starts in 2012 on the water, with a racing crew sailing a Dufour 34 called Northern Light. In 2019 the same sailors turned their project into a company that develops recyclable composites and builds boats from them. Their first boat is the Ecoracer 25, drawn by the naval architect Matteo Polli. The hull combines flax fibre, basalt fibre and recyclable carbon over a recyclable core, held together by a thermoplastic resin that lets the fibres be separated again at the end of the boat's life. The laminate is vacuum infused, and the hull wears a film instead of paint. You recognise the boat by its angular reverse bow and reverse sheer.

Many owners tow boats of this size to regattas, which makes the road trailer part of the package.
