Oy Nykra AB is a Finnish yard whose name is tied to the Sunwind sailing yachts. These are fiberglass cruisers for the Baltic and the North Sea, built for steady family passages rather than the race course. The Swedish designer Tord Sundén is recorded as the designer of the Sunwind 31. A Sunwind shows a plain Scandinavian profile with a cabin trunk and a cruising layout, and the name helps too: the number after Sunwind is very close to the length in feet, so the Sunwind 33 measures about ten metres and the Sunwind 27 just over eight.
