Parker is a Polish yard with English roots. The boating press describes a company history reaching back almost 150 years to England, while the boats themselves have been built in Poland for around five decades. Under the socialist system there was little call for luxury yachts, and the yard built working craft such as offshore lifeboats instead. That background still shows: the boats are laid out for seaworthiness and drawn with a plain, unfussy look. Another detail is the double identity. What Western Europe knows as Parker is sold in Scandinavia as Askeladden, and both lines come from the same yard. Test runs often take place in the Bay of Gdansk off Gdynia.
